One of the first things I learned in AA was about "turning it over." Here is an email to two friends about how I did that today.
Dear Lori and Will:
By nature, I am a micro-manager and I have been trying to live in the moment like Tolle suggests. It is a marvelous experience.
But I had a slip today trying to micro-manage my income. I was getting a headache when suddenly I remembered what I was taught in AA about turning it over. So I did. I took the third step again.
At the same time I felt called to make some major changes in my websites and message boards. I have always kept my message board for love addicts [5,000 members who come and go] a secret so when I get a paying client I can send them there to pick up where I leave off. I thought if I posted it on the board they would not bother with me because of the money. But today I posted the link to the board in a prominent. So if someone wants to talk to me they can go to my counseling page and pay. If they are in trouble and have no money, they are taken care of the way I was by my sponsor and by God when I started my journey. So now it is truly in God's hands. I don't expect the money to come pouring in, it never has, but some day in the future I am in a position to get help if God wants to inspire people to do so.
I have always been torn between helping people for free and charging money. Now I am released from that struggle. For those who want to pay me or donate they can. For those who are poor like me they can get help.
I hope you are well. Thank you both for all you do for me.
