Dear Friends:
My brother-in-law Sol Samuels passed away this morning, but that is not what I want to tell you. I have another one of my famous stories.
This was meant to be a busy week. On Wednesday they are spraying for bed bugs after my son hauls away my bed. On Wednesday my son is going to paint my apartment. On Thursday they are going to put in new carpet. At the same time I am trying to cover an over-limit fee at the bank. I am no stranger to burying people, as you all know, so I am taking this all in stride. I knew Sol was dying so I thought I was all organized. But like many people these days I needed the computer to send emails to friends and family. So in the middle of all this chaos I sit down to my computer and can't access the internet. I stay calm and call the cable company and they determine that my computer was the problem. So I went to a technician and told him my story and how I did not have any money until my disability check arrives. I am thinking I am going to just have to make phone calls and drive to the bank and do everything the hard way, when he casually, "I will fix the computer. Just come back when you get some money and pay me."
On the surface many people would call this simply a good deed. But that is not what this was about. This was about God showing me and my husband Frank that he was going to guide me through this one day at a time. This is my experience with God. We don't escape tragedies, but God will find a way of reminding us that he is there for you. As the Bible says, "Oh death, where is thy sting."
I have had a busy day. I am going to bed. My best to all of you
